Warne Marsh
Warne Marsh is one of the more obscure saxophonists in Jazz history, but he's also one of the more unique ones as well.
Known mostly as a west-coast player, Marsh was a key member of the Tristano school of improvisation (lead by mentor and teacher, Lennie Tristano). Often considered to be a "cool" player, Marsh was really more of a multi-faceted player that was as comfortable playing bop as he was playing more challenging, free expressions.
Join us as we examine the work of a true original this week - the great Warne Marsh.
