Clifford Jordan
Our saxophonist in the spotlight this week came “Blowing in from Chicago” to the New York scene in the mid 1950’s. From there, Clifford Jordan made a name for himself as a leader and as a sideman.
As a member of the Charles Mingus Sextet, Clifford Jordan kept pace with fellow saxophonist Eric Dolphy. Under his own name, Jordan was a terrific bandleader and composer/arranger. He left many memorable albums behind when he passed away in 1993.
Join us as we listen to one of the most soulful, and cerebral saxophonists in Jazz – the great Clifford Jordan!
