Paul Desmond
The singular sound of Paul Desmond's saxophone is one of the most distinctive and beloved tones in Jazz music.
Desmond is most often recognized and the primary saxophonist in the Dave Brubeck quartet. In fact, it could be said that Desmond, not Brubeck, defined the cool, laid back sound of that band since his composition "Take 5" went on to become one of the most popular songs of all time, but also because his style of playing was so unique. Desmond also produced a slew of terrific leader releases under his own name.
