Eddie Henderson

Eddie_henderson

Eddie Henderson's story is an interesting one.  He's worked in two very different worlds: as an A-list trumpeter in Jazz, and as a practicing psychiatrist, often doing both at the same time.

Influenced by trumpet greats before him like Louis Armstrong, Clifford Brown and Miles Davis - Henderson developed his own, unique tone on the horn.  His early albums as a leader for the Blue Note label are tasteful examples of early 70's fusion.  During this same period he also worked with Herbie Hancock's Mwandishi band, then with Pharoah Sanders, Billy Hart, Charles Earland and more.  Today, he continues to play and write important music - taking his rightful place alongside Jazz's living legends.
